Event Summary
Following a vehicle fire near a residential complex, multiple units and common areas sustained significant heat, flame, and smoke damage. An Emergency Order from Council was issued requiring urgent fencing, reinstatement of plumbing and electrical services, and submission of compliance certificates. Our team was engaged to carry out immediate make-safe and restoration works.
Cause of Damages
- A vehicle fire caused extensive damage to nearby apartment units and shared infrastructure
- Electrical systems in one of the units and common area lighting circuits were compromised
- No underlying maintenance issues were identified
Damage Assessment
- Fire damage affected 4 units, as well as car park and common areas
- Electrical hazards and data service disruptions were present
- Public safety was at risk due to exposed infrastructure and lack of lighting
Works Completed
- Temporary fencing installed to secure fire-affected zones
- Electrical circuits isolated and tested for safety
- Full rewiring of common area lighting circuits across all levels
- Installation of 18 new weatherproof LED batten lights
- Replacement of damaged RCBO, lighting switch, and data cabling
- Coordination with power authority to restore electricity to affected units
- All works completed in accordance with AS/NZS standards and confirmed safe
